Leeds Street Angels New Year News Happy New Year and thank you to everyone who has been on patrol.Just before Christmas we had a great time having pizza and then going out on patrol with Paul and Jean Blakey, the founders of Street Angels. Paul and Jean head up Christian Nightlife Initiatives Network, and offer loads of help to Street Angels projects. We were really glad they could come and spend an evening with us on patrol in Leeds! Looking back through our reports for the Christmas period our teams have had quite a mix of situations. They've waited with people for ambulances; given out blankets and water; helped people find their way to taxi's and hotels and been a listening ear. Although a while ago now here's what one individual fed back to us online... "I just want to say a huge thank you to the lovely man and woman that was looking after me last night outside The Botanist/Burger King. I'm so grateful for all your help and sorry for being in such a horrible state" and more recently... "Thank you so much for my flip flops last night! I don't go into town often, well the first time in almost 3 years and I didn't have a clue there was such a service." Glad we could make the Christmas period safer. Getting ready for Easter, already! Leeds Lent Prayer Diary We're happy to say Leeds Street Angels will feature again this year in the Leeds Lent Prayer Diary. The diary no longer receives a subsidy, so there is a suggested donation of 85p. Copies can be ordered from the Network Leeds website.
Street Angels Leeds was featured on BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Five Live on Mad Friday.

Thank you to everyone who has been out on patrol! The last month or so has been busy and full of friendly faces. We've helped lots of people over the last 6 weeks. Here's a bit of feedback from those we met recently: "Just wanted to say a huge thank you for returning my son's licence. We are so blessed that you found it and then posted it out to him and it is much appreciated !! " "Thank you so much for looking after me last night outside queens court :)" Also, a group were praying for us over the patrol night of 10th October too! "Street Angels were covered with prayer as you were out on the street, lots of amazing words went out for you guys, and it was a pleasure praying for you, blessing your team, and praying for God's wonderful protection and guidance. I hope you felt totally covered, guided by God's Holy Spirit and blessed." ![]() CNI network launched 20:15:10 this month, celebrating 20 years of street work in Northern Ireland; 15 years of work in Scotland and 10 years of work in England. To read more about it go to: www.sa-cni.org.uk/201510.html Hi there Street Angels. September is here with a new term, new students arriving into the city and a new co-ordinator. That's me. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Katie and I just started the role of Leeds Street Angels Co-ordinator. Hopefully I'll meet you soon on patrol. Thank you to everyone for all the time you've invested in the project already. I hope this year will be as impactful and fun as ever!
Leeds Street Angels were involved, along with Street Angels and others from across the North, were involved in Festival Angels at Leeds Festival. The teams ran Lost Property, a Prayer Cafe and detached teams across the festival site. Here are a few photos... Thank you to everyone who has been out on patrol! We've had some great feedback again this month, with people getting in touch to say: 6th July: However late, I'd late to take this opportunity to thank the two kind volunteers who helped me on the evening of Friday 27th June in Leeds City Centre. Unfortunately I don't know their names so cannot thank them personally. I can honestly say, I'd had far too much to drink and was it no fit state. It has really shook me up and I can guarantee I have learnt my lesson. Sorry for wasting your time and thank you for you help. WELL DONE ANGELS - that is fantastic work!! And it's Goodbye to Beth! Beth writes: "It's been such an adventure being part of the Street Angels team here! It's been a privilege to meet and spend time with each of you volunteers, and to be part of making Leeds city - centre an even better and safer place to be. You'll know that I'm part of the project because I believe there is a God who loves this world and who invites people like you and me to be part of showing people that they are important, loved and worth looking after - no matter what state they are in. You are all so good at treating people in that way. I'm so excited that the project will be carrying on, and I think Katie is fantastic! Whatever your reason for being part of it, Street Angels will certainly develop and grow into the future as together, we really do make a massive difference. Thank you for being so wonderful and so willing - I look forward to hearing more about what you get up to on the streets at night!"
